| Bland County 1880 census not found. Russell Carter, Alfred Carter Richard Shields borrowed one hundred dollars. James Hamilton was made trustee. Funds were secured from James M. French and Thomas J. Munsey. They put up house and lot of Russell Carter, present growing crop of wheat and corn, one waggon and 2 horses (one bay & the other gray color) The property of said Alfred Carter and one horse a brown mare now in possession of Richard Shields. they were to pay it off in sixty days. After which time Munsey & French would sell the propery to pay off Russell Carthers debt. Signed by an X mark of Russell Carter, Alfred Carter and Richard Shields. If property did not cover debt of Russell Carter they could attach Richard Shields & Alfred Carters property Deed was made July 4th 1877. 265 Richard Shields lost his 247 3/4 acres land for above debt in Chancery Court case French & Munsey vs Russel Carter et als. 65 Oct 9 1895 |
