Bland County Marriage registers states a Matilda Harman widow married Lewis Henderson in 1895. She give her age as 37 which would make her 10 years old when her oldest daughter Sarah A. was born. Need to check census to verify age. States married by G.W. K. Green but the liscense was not returned. No parents given for either Lewis or Matilda148 Robert Harman and Matilda are found on the 1870 Mercer County Census with A.J. Tynes and Julia living next door. In 1880 they are listed in Beaverpond District house# 23 as Robert age 35, Matilda age 30, Sarah age, 12, Charles age 9, Elizabeth age 7, Julia age 5, nancy age 2 and Jackson age 5/12. A.J. Tynes has moved to Dry Fork.
Chancery Order Books record in case of T.E. Gregory adm & et als against Lewis Henderson et als defts. Robt Harman purchased land in August 1879 or prior to from Thomas F. Walker. The case lists the heirs of Robt Harman dec'd as: Sarah A. Harmn, Scott Harman, Lara Harman, Robt Harman and Bean H. Harman. Lewis Henderson and Matilda Harman are listed also. A.J. Tynes loaned money to Henderson to pay off debt then deed was issued to Harman heirs when debt repaid to Tynes.149,150 |
